Thief
The strength of thieves lies in their ability to catch enemies off guard by using stealth, shadows, and surprise attacks. They can steal items from enemies that can then be used against the target as a weapon. While other classes have a cooldown on weapon skills, thieves rely on initiative. Shown as a bar on the UI, a thief can monitor initiative usage during combat, making it possible for the thief to allow initiative to build, followed by rapid attacks and burst damage. The thief also differs from other professions in the way that their weapons determine skills. The first two skills are determined by main-hand weapon, the second two skills are determined by off-hand weapon, and the final skill is determined by the combination of both weapons.
Shadow Stepping: Thieves can use this ability to get in and out of battle very quickly by allowing them to disappear from one location, and then instantly appear in a different location.
Stealth: The ability to slip into the shadows, making the thief invisible to enemy players and immune to aggro. Thieves have access to multiple abilities that can grant stealth. While in stealth mode, the thief cannot be targeted by enemies, but AoE damage can pull them out of stealth temporarily. They have a special skill when stealthed determined by weapon, but they will be pulled out of stealth when they attack a target.
Trap: Drops a trap at the thief's current location, the trap will be triggered when an enemy passes over it.
Ambush - Set a trap that, when triggered, calls in a fellow thief that attacks nearby foes for 20 seconds.
Needle Trap - Set a trap that immobilizes and poisons foes when triggered.
Shadow Trap - Set a trap. You vanish in stealth and shadowstep back to the trap when it is triggered.
Tripwire - Set a trap that knocks down foes when triggered.
Venom: Coats the thief's weapons in venom that will inflict conditions with attacks. Venoms can also be applied to traps and area of effect skills.
Basilisk Venom - Your next attack turns your foe to stone.
Devourer Venom - Your next two attacks Immobilize.
Ice Drake Venom - Chill foes with the next three attacks.
Skale Venom - Inflict vulnerability and weakness with your next three attacks.
Spider Venom - Poison foes with your next five attacks.
